Our History

Pilot Challenge Magazine is the reality of Pilot Travel Centers efforts to continue to serve the needs of professional truck drivers. In 2004, we identified a void existed within publications directed toward the professional truck driver and launched an effort to create a publication that would give our customers informative, relaxing and pleasurable reading. A publication that can be used for reference, education, current events and subject matter both inside and outside of the transportation industry. We talked to professional truck drivers to learn about their interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes and have directed our publication content to address that feedback.
The first issue of Pilot Challenge Magazine was in Pilot Travel Centers on November 1, 2005, less than one year after idea development. Published by Victory Publishing, the magazine is for professional truck drivers and is hand-delivered to consumers at the Pilot Travel Centers fuel payment desk. It is open to comment and input from any reader. Our advertising strategy is to provide advertisers a direct link to their consumer market of the professional truck driver. The advertiser opportunity includes products and services available to the target market both in and out of the boundaries of Pilot Travel Centers.
