GIVE YOUR BOTTOM LINE A POWER BOOST
FUEL ADDITIVES HELP MAKE THE NUMBERS WORK
By Power Service

Ask any trucker: These days, it’s all about the numbers. Let’s start with the startling cost of a gallon of diesel. Then add in your miles-per-gallon rate, insurance costs, your other per-mile operating expenses and more. You tally it all up, and then carefully compare it with what you’re being paid.

Making those numbers work so you generate a profit is definitely getting harder, and it’s tempting to cut corners by using lower-grade fuels or delaying routine maintenance. But there’s one part of your expenses that you should not eliminate during tough times.

A COST THAT SAVES YOU MONEY
Not using a diesel-fuel additive on a regular basis might save you a little now, but it can shortchange you in the long run. That’s because a good fuel additive provides a number of long-term benefits to your engine.

Using a properly blended fuel additive also directly impacts your current profit, as it can increase the distance you drive on every gallon. For example, Diesel Kleen + Cetane Boost from Power Service Products can immediately increase your mpg by up to 8 percent.

Every driver’s numbers are different, but for many, that’s like getting an extra 12 or more gallons of diesel every time they fill up, which equals an additional 65 or more miles they can roll down the road (based on a 5 percent increase, 5 mpg and 250 gallons). Here’s the best part: The value of those additional miles more than pays for the cost of the additive. Do this every time you fill up, and it can help you make your numbers easier to handle.

That’s why thousands of rigs – from independent operators to large fleets – use Power Service every fill-up, year-round. In fact, Wal-Mart Transportation tested Diesel Kleen + Cetane Boost at the Goodyear Testing Facility in San Angelo, TX using the SAE J-1232 Type II FueL Economy Test. Wal-Mart Transportation reported the results of that test to the National Private Truck Council in June 2006 and continues to treat the fuel at their terminals with Diesel Kleen + Cetane Boost on an ongoing basis.

HOW DIESEL KLEEN WORKS
First, Diesel Kleen is not one of those additives that are mass-produced and private-labeled. It is the proprietary creation of Power Service Products, a true diesel-additive formulator with its own research, testing, manufacturing, blending, bottling and distribution network.

One of Diesel Kleen’s key ingredients is Slickdiesel, developed by Power Service Products to increase the lubricating capability of Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel fuel. This is critical, for while ULSD does a great job of reducing exhaust emissions, the process to manufacture it destroys much of the fuel’s lubricity. (Using a Power Service additive does not raise the sulfur content of ULSD fuel; all Power Service products are ULSD compliant.)

Diesel Kleen also contains Cetane Boost to raise a fuel’s cetane number, which helps fuel burn quickly and completely so that engines generate power at maximum efficiency. Some additives contain only a trace amount of cetane, but Diesel Kleen has generous amounts that increase the cetane number by a full six points.

Finally, special detergents are included to aid in keeping critical internal engine parts clean and deposit-free. The result is a powerful – yet economical – additive giving you results to help you go farther now and protect vital engine components in the future.

In summary, Diesel Kleen:

  • Increases mpg up to 8 percent
  • Cleans dirty fuel injectors
  • Speeds up cold-starting
  • Improves engine smoothness and idle
  • Protects pumps from wear
  • Decreases power lag
  • Lowers exhaust emissions
  • Increases fuel resistance to thermal and oxidative degradation
  • Reduces piston and combustion chamber deposits
  • Stabilizes stored fuel

Diesel Kleen is safe to add to all ULSD and biodiesel fuels, and it’s easy to use. The new easy-pour 80-ounce bottle treats 250 gallons of fuel. For best results and to ensure proper mixing, Power Service Products recommends adding the additive to your tank before filling with fuel.

THE BOTTOM LINE
The bottom line is simple: Regular use of a quality fuel additive can boost your own bottom line, because the money you’ll save will be more than you’ll spend. Diesel Kleen gives you up-to 8 percent jump in mpg and keeps engine parts clean so your repair and replacement costs are lower. You’ll still be doing your part to help reduce emissions by using ULSD, but you won’t have to sacrifice your engine since Diesel Kleen replaces the fuel’s missing lubricating agents.

ABOUT POWER SERVICE PRODUCTS
Power Service Products’ headquarters and 26-acre manufacturing facility are in Weatherford, Texas. The family-owned company began in 1956 in a one-car garage and has grown into one of the industry’s greatest success stories. The company’s research laboratory is a recognized leader in the development of new and improved diesel-fuel additives.

“For more than 50 years, we’ve been proud to be part of America’s trucking industry,” says Ed Kramer, Power Service owner and president (and son of the founder, Al Kramer). “When fuel prices were reasonable, we thought Diesel Kleen was a good idea because it helped keep engines clean and powerful ... the extra mpg was kind of a side bonus. These days, the mpg boost is more important, but truckers still get the benefit of its cleansing ability. Either way, it’s a good product that is helping the industry in these challenging times.”

Power Service products are available at truck stops and automotive retailers nationwide. For more information, visit www.powerservice.com.

Other Power Service products specifically for the trucking industry include:
Clear-Diesel Fuel & Tank Cleaner, an advanced new fuel-tank-cleaning technology that can be used as a vital part of any preventive maintenance program or for immediate cleanup of equipment or fuel-storage tanks. Clear-Diesel disperses diesel-fuel contaminants, removes water, contains +PetroFresh to provide maximum long-term storage stability and keep fuel fresh, prevents premature fuel-filter plugging and protects against fuel-tank corrosion.

Diesel Fuel Supplement+Cetane Boost, the product of choice for optimal winter operation, down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit. It contains the most effective anti-gel additive package available in the diesel industry (no blending with No. 1 diesel or kerosene is needed) and enhances cetane up to four numbers for faster cold-starts and a smoother running engine. It also has Slickdiesel to improve lubrication, clean fuel injectors and increase mpg.

Diesel 9-1-1, the product you want to have on hand for winter emergencies. It de-ices frozen fuel filters, prevents fuel-filter icing, reliquefies gelled fuel, removes water from fuel systems and more.
